Hi,
I have husaberg 600fe 99, and lately engine stop working, no spark on the plug I have checked stator and it is OK, coil itself is good the problem is with the processor, exacly with the program, I read software on the processor(EEPROM). Does anyone has read this program beause I would like to compare it with my, to check if my is OK?
I has to check this because sygnal(which is correct) reach the coil but there is no spark on plug, coil has also been check
Thank you in advanced for your helf

daniel-

I am wondering how you were able to trace your problem back to the CDI unit, specifically the EEPROM? I am currently trying to put together a guide for the husaberg electrical system and any info that you may be able to contribute would be gladly appreciated. This document that I am currently putting together is an effort to pull as much information as I can into a form so that others will have something to use when addressing issues with their Husabergs from an electrical standpoint. I am trying to include all aspects of both ignition systems and the different components and ways of trouble shooting them. I also hope to cover modifications, retrofits, links for rewinding magnetos, and specs for the various units. This task has proven to be very overwhelming as I am not an expert in motorcycle ignition systems.

To whom it may concern.... I am also asking that if any member has any info that I may incorporate into this document, please feel free to share it by sending me a PM or posting any relevant data into the electrical forum as this is where most of my data is coming from as well as the internet. I am not trying to replace the "Hard Start" guide, only trying to bring together the data as well as add to it all the problems and solutions that the community has evolved over the years. If anyone has any suggestions or relevant data I would be appreciative as it would make these lengthy searches much shorter.

One side note: I have been hard pressed to find any spec data on the SEM units regarding outputs such as trigger voltages, ratings and such so if anyone could help with these please send me what you can or post them into the forums.

Thank you in advance,

I have read program(software) from the processor by a special electrical equipment,I receive row of number which is responsible for "map of ignition" in processor, I need to compare it(this row of numbers-software) with one that is correct. We in Poland repair car's and motor's computers .I know that my question may be difficult to understand, but if sb is good in electronic I will be very grateful for any info.
Thanks

daniel,

I have not heard of anyone here on the site doing any diagnostic work like you are speaking of on their bergs. I may be wrong, but I don't ever recall anyone ever trouble shooting down to this level, just trouble shoot down to the component and then order a new one and swap them out. I am interested in where you can pick up one of the program readers and the software that you are referring to, sounds kind of interesting.

Regards,

Daniel,

I agree with Sandskipper. Just replace the new one.

But, regarding the guys of the "ECU", I wouldn't think it has an EEPROM in it. EEPROMs are generally too slow to run these things. Unless it downloads the data once, then it might work. I always thought the guts were purely analog. I think the ignition might have a different advance at different RPM's, but I'm not sure. Dale Lineaweaver would be the guy to ask (chime in Dale).

Also, could you supply the output??? I'm curious what it is saying!

Hi Daniel,
The firmware is proprietary Husaberg / SEM. Many hours of reverse engineering would be required in order to make sense of the raw binary data. Possible, Yes. However, in my humble opinion such would not be worth the effort.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Dale

PS
The code will not change of it's own accord. Chances are you simply have a bad analog circuit. (Sator and / or ECU hardware)
