I own a couple of KTM's, an LC4 640 Enduro and a 625 Supermoto, both street legal. I am interested in the Husabergs and am trying to learn about them but I need some help.
What does the pre-fix FS and FE and the suf-fix c, e etc. mean? I saw an FS 650c in an online photo and it looks like the S might be for supermoto and the c maybe competition because it doesn't have lights but the pic of the e has lights so maybe the e is for enduro? I saw a picture of an actual FS 650c for sale but it had the lights that looked stock, but maybe they were added by the owner. A bit confusing to me.

This 650 had destroyed a main bearing (2006 model) and was repaired under warranty. Are the 650's something to avoid? What years were they made? Any comments on the 650's in particular?

I know that the 650 is not the ultimate for woods or track, and neither are my KTM's, but I need something big enough for street duty also as I cannot afford a bunch of specialized motorcycles. I must comprimise. I could see myself trading some orange for some blue if it made sense to do so.

Thanks for the patience of anyone who is kind enough to respond to my many questions.

Best Regards,
Terry

FE = Enduro
FS = Supermoto
FSc = Supermoto with these changes:
No lights
The sprockets are different giving a lower gearing on the fs650c.
The fs650c has no thermostat.
That came from this post viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8952
There is no stand either.

There is a very knowledgeable fella on this forum called Orangeberg, he likes the 650 (Enduro) and has a bit of interesting info to say in this post:

You can check the models out when you click the "Owners Doc's" on the front page here in the "menu" box.

Search for a few things there is plenty of info.

Welcome to the site.

Davo, thanks for the info. It was very helpful and much appreciated. I will keep researching.

Best regards,
Terry

No worries, there are a few Supermoto boyz on here so maybe they will chime in with a bit more info.
One fella on here has even made his own Cylinder Head from a piece of billet Aluminum. Truly astonishing, check it out if you have time:

Dave.

Thanks again! Reading Orangeberg kind of scared me though. Sounds like those engines tend to self-destruct too often.

I sure do have a lot of resoect for a man who can fabricate his own cylinder head. He (Dr. C) is awesome for sure.

Best Regards,
Terry
