ECU: Combustion Chamber Malfunction (FS570)

Hi all,

Have my FS 570 '10 for a bit over 6 weeks now and i've totalled around 2500km on it since then.

All the maintenance has been done when due.

For 600km now, the engine has stopped running 6 times already. This happens when the engine is warm and when i'm Giving gas. The more i give gas the worse it gets, till it finally collapses. Now after the engine dies, i cant start it again. However, if i leave it at rest for 15min. it will start again. I took this to the dealer and the ECU mentions this code: combustion chamber malfunction. They dont know what it means..
I think they'll look into it with KTM but they told me it would take approx. 2 weeks

Anybody for help?

Ktm have had problems with their spark plugs recently. they crack in the white stuff, hairline fracture.
Might not be a problem till theyget warmed up.

Could be a spark plug, easy enough to check. I would think it's a fuel pump issue the way you describe it.

Hold on, im going to detail what happens so you have a better idea.

Most of the times its like this: Stop and Idle in neutral or with clutch in. 1st gear, gas n slow release of clutch, doesnt rev up and stumbles/coughs, i give more gas to aid the stumbling and it dies even faster. At that moment, if i clutch it in again or put it in neutral, it idles like 2 more seconds and then it dies.

It happened like this too: 2nd gear driving, wanting to reach 3rd gear so more gas to rev it up, however the engine just kills itself as i give more gas, till death.

:)

Sounds like the fuel pump seizing, low fuel pressure, wont accel and finally dies when the pump seizes. Wait a few minutes for the pump to cool and it runs again.
Can you hear the fuel pump run when you try to restart it after it stalls?

i have no idea how it sounds
it just cranks and cranks. I cant tell how the fuel pump sounds..
but ill talk about this suggestion to my dealer
thanks for the help already
ill be back with more details later

If you just tap the start button you will hear a buzzing sound for a few seconds. Thats the fuel pump running.

ok got the sound, yes the fuel pump works when it doesnt start.

so who of husaberg could explain what the code means?
Or could it be a multitude of things?

This might sound stupid, but have you checked your battery terminals? My 570 under acceleration sometimes just shut down down with loud bang coming from under seat. Loose terminals caused this and almost same thing happened to my friend. Bike wouldn't start anymore, loose terminals caused that also.

Fuel pump is also issue with these bikes...have you checked your fuel pressure?

wasn't there a prob with the inside of the tank decaying and clogging the fuel filter in the tank. does sound like fuel issue. will it rev in neutral?

mine has 50 hours on it, 25 of which are racing, the only thing that ever let me down was the fuel pump plug coming off and the bike stopping on the start line. starts every time, even when upside down.

no it doesn rev up in neutral
Will try calling the dealer again, thanks to all for your help

The answer from KTM is delayed due to work overload or something..

In the meantime i've been reading on more and more about the trouble I'm experiencing. It seems there is an epidemic of this issue and the problem is well-known. From what i've read on husaberg-forever.com, the bug seems to be a 'made in china' fuel pump or fuel injector, which ceases to function at a certain warm temperature.

Some guys have received a new 'made in china' replacement part to solve it but this doesn't work well as it just repeats the cycle.

Isn't there anyone on here from Husaberg who can either confirm this or shed some light on this topic?

On the other hand, i found that driving in 'cold weather' conditions doesn't make the engine malfunction..

The situation has become worse!

Now i get it EVERY ride! Even in cold weather. Every 15min. or so. And the waiting times before being able to start it up again has increased to 30min!

I'm losing my patience now. Up to this day i've been very happy with the whole husaberg experience but now i'm starting to dislike it very much.

Husaberg KNOWS this problem, so then Address it! I dont like these kind of manners where everybody just goes quiet and the whole client service goes numb.

I also know KTM/Husaberg officials read this forum so man up and give me some answers.

It seems the gods of HUSA have answered our call!

I'll have more details on the issue later today, but the problem has been addressed and apparently solved.

They say it is the 'sensor of the pulse generator' (roughly translated from 'capteur du générateur d'impulsions') thats has gone berserk.
They will replace it next week.

Im not sure, however, if this will definitively solve the issue, as i've noticed from other ppl that it just comes back....

So! today they have replaced the part. I het the bike back, everything ok, little jokes..

Two, I'm sorry, TWO, did you hear? 2 Kilometers further, the problem arises again!
M**f**, seriously - Husaberg sucks

I hope some officials are reading this because husaberg reliablity after 2000km = Zero
