we have ordered just 10 con rods for the 1990-1995 350 and the 1996-2000 400. they are due at the end of next month-May.

we have taken two pre-orders so 8 left.

when i get these in it will mean that all tthree early engines are covered again for the first time since the factory stopped making them about 8 years ago.

I expect them to be 200 quid inside the EU and about 166 outside.

nice one Fedge!
can I ask you to email your details into the office and Julia will keep you posted.

Taffy

Hey Taffy,I have sent the email to your office, and Julia replied, I will put together a list for a complete engine over hull, I seen Valve guides and seals, are there valves and springs for this bike as well.

Thanks,fedge

yes we have stopped selling OEM guides now because they are too loose. the rest is standard issue, all our valves are the same price which makes our gas-flowed inlets more expensive than OEM but the exhausts are cheaper.

I don't know the length of the long stroke 501. do you have one? are you sure it is 121mm?

later it was 119mm or 120mm, yes.

When I get my connecting rod removed I will let you all know. How long the 94 FE350 is.

fedge.

i've got yours down as 125.5mm fedge... hope I'm right.

Taffy

Hey Taffy, what every it was from the factory, the bike has never been touched.

I trust your judgement on the length.

fedge

by allowing the smaller engine to have the longer rod, you are effectively leaving the barrel alone.

for anyone reading this, a final check is ALWAYS to check that the piston doesn't come over the top of the liner by more than 0.4mm and should only be measured at 3 o clock and 9 o clock. this is over the gudgeon pin where the piston cannot rock.

0.4mm gives you 1.0mm between the head and piston. anything less than this is fine when new but will be contact at 6 o clock and 12 o clock later when worn.
