yup....with the price of gas....

i'm looking for suggestions as to where to find the parts. also would a milder cam be advisable for valve train longetivity?

Ummm... I am pretty sure that the great state of Kalifornia will not allow a 02 fx470 to LEGALLY ride on our wonderfully smooth paved roads.... I would think that you would be better of as well to go and find a used DRZ or similar, they can be had fairly inexpensivly and with the money you will spend converting the FX and then the money spent fixing the top end when it gernades on you... you would be money ahead.

I agree with Risky! No way will the Berg ever legally hit the road in San Jose. Those days are forever gone.

How about a Vespa.

You could move to arizona and Dual Sport it still I think.

Good Luck!

i thought you used to be able to set it up, go to the DMV and have it inspected ....and get it liscensed

.......... Off-highway motorcycles must have an emission label affixed to the vehicle indicating certification by the manufacturer for on-highway use when converting to on-highway or dual registration........

I'm pretty sure you're talking about a time when California was still a part of the union.
