I have assembled the crank and counter balancer shaft but would like to double check whether it's in the right position just to confirm. The photo was taken at TDC after I meshed the balancer at BDC with the most outer green dot. Forgive me if this question has been asked but I cant seem to find it anywhere on the site

Hey madmark,

I'm not sure where that green dot comes from?

As far as I'm aware there are punch marks on the counterbalancer weight gear and the idler shaft.

The mark on the idler shaft should point downwards and the mark on the balancer weight points upwards. You can then keep them aligned by putting the crank in place into the left hand crank case to mesh the gears while you look at it from above - i.e. from where the cylinder liner would be.

The problem with your picutre is that it does not show nor confirm the relative postioning of the idler shaft to the balance weight.

Hope this helps,
Simon
