If you have any extra money, consider donating some of it to a hurricane / flood relief organization. Resources will be stretched very thinly in the Gulf Coast region for months, maybe years to come. And none of us are immune to catastrophic events like the one they are continuing to experience.

Best regards,

I have just changed jobs to a large international insurer working in their risk engineering and loss control dept. I got a phone call today stating that I need to be prepared to head to the Gulf Coast within the next few days to help estimate losses. I am really not looking forward to it. There is alot of pain and heartache going on there right now.

Our church is one of the largest silent donors out there. They gave millions in cash and millions in supplies during the tsunami earlier this year and it will happen again now. I will be designating an additional tithe/donation every payday for this as well. god bless whom ever has been affected...

My family is donating to the American Red Cross. I hope that it helps even a little. The pictures on television are beyond belief. God bless those who are suffering.
Please contibute at least the cost of a week-end ride, stay home, and pray for the survivors.

We donated through the Red Cross website. You can designate that your donation go to the Hurricane Katrina victims. Their Web Site is super slow right now. It may be faster to call them at 1-800-HELP NOW

I have many friends currently in the area (all are okay). Thanks to all who donate to help them out. I lived in Biloxi for 6 years and was back there for 6 weeks earlier this year, the pictures really get to me. I could have been there right now, 3 of my neighbors were there and wethered the hurricane in a shelter. My thoughts especially go out to the workers who are cleaning up and helping others while their homes lie in ruin.

Does the United Way get involved in these
emergencies? The plant and I have given them
plenty over the years.
