Has anyone out there tried DNA wheels? I saw some good reviews and the price is right - I can get a set for the price of an Excel rear wheel. They take OEM KTM cranks and brake rotors and I'm pretty sure they'll fit a 'berg. However, to be certain it would be nice to hear from a fellow 'berg'er who has tried them. That's what forums are for!

Cheers

Put an 18" DNA rear wheel on my 09 yz250 so I could run a trials tire with the TUBLISS system.
Rim works and looks good, have run hard in rocks and roots with low pressure 7 to 9 psi with no flats (thanks Tubliss) and no rim damage. My Excels on my 010 FE have damage (flat spots and dings) from rocks riding higher speeds in the desert ( tire pressure 14 to 17 psi)
DNA seems to be a good rim, especially for the price

I would be interested in opinions too.

I would think that if they are not terribly too much heavier or there was not some other flaw, they would be a wheel I would consider for SM wheels. For off-road strength is an issue so I will keep my DID wheels that came with the bike.

I combed the net for opinions and reviews and found mainly positive write ups.

I went for it, I'll get them on the bike and see how they are.

Cheers

Are you getting SM wheels or dirt wheels?

I got a set of dirt wheels, they arrived yesterday. All I can say at this point is that they look to be of good quality. I'll mount them up and file another report.

They're on and it all fit without a hitch. I took the bike for a spin around the farm and all was well.

The fit and finish on the rims, hubs and spokes looks good and seems pretty beefy.

My thanks to Dillon at DNA wheels ([email protected]) who was very helpful answering my questions.

I ran them on a small motocross course on the weekend and nothing fell apart! So far, so good.

The wheels lasted the season without issue. Now that I know they work, they seem to be a great value.

I know where a set of these can be had for $399 plus shipping. If anyone is interested shoot me a pm.
