Has anyone fitted the DJH Husaberg cam chain tensioner?

Just wondering how much thread you had left on the adjuster after installation?

Not much thread left showing on mine so I would presume my timing chain is pretty well stuffed already at 1800 klms.

Anyone done the timing chain yet and know the costs etc?

Thanks

2010 570fe has 3 or 4 threads showing at 51 hours. I wonder how long the chains are expected to last? I'm happy with the adjuster and like having a " gauge" ( the threaded bit ) to monitor cam chain wear.

My bike only has a few hours on it, so don't worry about the threads showing indicating wear.

My experience with my last bike (a DRZ400) with a manual tensioner like this is periodic adjustment is not needed. Set it and forget it, basically. I went years without touching it on the DRZ.

Don't go nuts setting it too tight either. Daves instructions are good. Turn with your finger until it just contacts the chain buffer, then go half a turn in from there. If you are really paranoid, a good time to install it is when you are checking valves. You can see it contact the pad when the valve cover is off.

Great product and super service by the way. Highly recommended!

Well, I got my DJH CCT installed today. Seems like it's working out good, but I'm a little afraid of getting it adjusted too tight. I'm not sure I have a good ear for what a "loose" CCT sounds like? Right now I think it sounds good, but there are only a few threads showing?

Anyway, I geeked out and shot a little video. I realize it's a bit optimistic, but maybe one of you experts can give me a little insight....? Thanks

First attempt at adjusting DJH. Tight?

Second adjustment. Backed off one turn or so.

Hope this helps, I put mine in, but felt it was over adjusted, so I loosened it while the bike was running and could feel contact with the chain tensioner, as soon as I couldn't feel it I turned it back inca turn, and it's been perfect and I've got one or two threads showing, but I'm happy with it

I installed mine yesterday. Almost got heart attack when lifting stock tensioner out and found out the small o-ring was halfway going into the motor.

Carefully lifted it and put the DJH in then. Turned it slightly snug and hit the starter button with fingers crossed. Started backing it off a little when I heard more chain rattle and ticking sound. Gave it good half or 3/4 turn in and motor sounds very nice! Very nice piece and seems to be engineered pretty well, I'm sure it's 1000 times better than the stock crap I took out.

Any more reports on the DJH CCT's?
Has anyone checked their's for tension while they have the valve cover off for a valve check?

T'anks! E-Ticket

I've run a DJH for a year now (if you don't count the 6 months of deployment out of that)...

So far, no issues. My valves were spot on at 20 hours. At 50 hours..no adjustments needed yet on either... So...

I can't recommend anything other than the DJH.

And Tubliss...you need Tubliss too.

Went out this last week on a 56 mile loop. At the turnaround point (28 miles in) one of the guys says "hey, your front tire is flat". I didn't even notice...so I pulled out the small bicycle pump and a tire plug. less than 5 minutes...full of air and ready to rock.

So..I'm just recommending that one too.

I fitted a DJH some 50 hrs ago (now up to 105) and adjusted it by feel as per Dave's instructions. Not touched it since. I've had the valve cover off twice for tappet checks since fitting it and the chain tension looked and felt spot on. A quality piece of kit, quite simple in design but then the best designs always are.

+1 !

No problems in over 50 hours...

I have tried a few times to order a DJH cam tensioner to my husa, but when I come to 'shipping method' I get "Sorry, no quotes are available for this order at this time.".

I guess I cant order it to sweden where I live. Any suggestions or solutions how to get my hands on one?

Send him a PM either here or on KTM talk, he goes by DJH there also and he will respond I'm sure.

I contacted him through the mail I found on his web page. He answered that his site cant handle international purchases, so he takes care of that manually. All I had to do was to pay him $ 91.55 to his paypal account stating what motorcycle I wanted it to and my home address.

Now all I have to do is check my mail box, cant wait :)

You need to email Dave via contact page and he has to quote manually. The online system cannot handle shipments outside the USA. I did this last week and mine is on route to UK. Nice and easy
