dissapearing oil

G'day Men, I tried changing the oil in my 03 400 but run into strife.
I pulled the caps off the forks drained as much oil as I could by working the forks and damper up and down so far so good. I poured 450ml of fresh oil in and I'm led to believe I should now have oil sitting at about 130 mm from the top of the tube with the springs out and the whole plot fully compressed, trouble is I cant see a drop and its not on the floor either! I'd be grateful for the answer to this one if anyone can help.
cheers Matt

go to the doc: handling: front suspension:

Thanks for that Ned, I had a good look and couldnt find anything wrong so I bit the bullet and stripped the whole shock, as it turns out the whole shim stack on the bottom of the compression valve in one shock had been removed. I have no idea why you would do this , any ideas would again be much appreciated.

what is the mid valve arrangement on that leg ?

it might have been converted to a setup where one leg does compression only and the other does rebound only

or else someone is haviing a laugh at you and stole your shims one night.

I blame the underpants gnomes

i wondered the same thing when i serviced the forks on my '03. i thought the same as bushy. turns out they had been modded by dick's suspension to work that way. no shims on the right fork.
works pretty good, by the way.
