Can you remove the roll over sensor, and bypass it soyou do not get the error light?? Mine was destroyed in the fire, and if I can do without it, it will save me some $$ in my rebuild

prolly need access to a working one to find out what it does

disabling a working one is easy just open it and glue it in "upright"

the only advantage I see in it is if you fall then really you want the engine to stop becasue the oil pump might not be getting any oil, no oil in the system is no good.

I believe this sensor is disabled by the software when the competition map is uploaded. At least this is the case with my 09 FE570

I recently tested my roll over sensor on my 09 570 several times during a race, and the bike would run for a few seconds laid over and then turn off. Don't mean to contradict you Suhoi27, just my observation.

In the past.........having fallen and having my arm or leg get hung up in the rear wheel, I would definitely want this device to be functioning. I really lucked out at the 88 Barstow to Vegas race when this happened, luckily the throttle didn't get pulled open as my arm got pulled in between the swingarm and the rear tire. The only thing that saved my arm was my enduro jacket and the fact the motor died pretty quickly.

Couldn't agree more with you, Dale. The sensor doesn't shut off the engine immediately and shouldn't affect anything if the rider simply bobbles and drops the bike quickly but picks it right back up. Having had the toes of my boot caught between the chain and sprocket once before with the throttle jammed open, I welcome an automatic engine kill! Just my 2 cents worth.

good point

a deadman wrist strap is even better

that hayabusa hillclimber often has 19 2"paddles with bolts  you don't want to have to wait 6 seconds for the computer to realise the bike is tipped, just pull the strap.
