Husaberg FE 450 wins shootout!

Dirt Rider said;
"Look at this Husaberg as redefining the way a four-stroke can handle and deliver power. It sets standards in fuel-injection tuning and mass centralization that others will be chasing."

Tested were the new BMW G450, KTM 450 XC-W, Yamaha WR, Honda CRF 450X, Kawasaki KLX 450 and Husqvarna TE 450E.

Just got my issue today. Read the whole shootout,they had a lot of good things to say about new berg. Very cool! When I read the verdict they talked about the berg but I was waiting for them to give the nod to the KTM, but low and behold they picked the berg. I am very happy to see a Husey finally win one of these. However I am not ready to give up my 650' s ( they are paid for).

It was a great read. It was almost amazing how much better the Berg was compared to some of the other bikes - especially the BMW.

it's amazing all right. i was amazed at the honesty of the magazine. they blasted the BMW. what happend here? do we actually have a dirt bike magazine worth reading again? over the years they have all become so lame.

I think they should do another comparison but this time maybe they could use both Husqvarna's and Ktm's real off road racers, like the Husqvarna TXC 450 and the KTM 450 XC-F. I'm quite sure that the new Berg would still fare well, but I think Dirt Rider should put it to the test. We don't want any one to think that we have a paper champion. Good day.

Hey Guys
The part in the story where you have to take the sub frame and the tank off is not true. Ive changed the rear shock without removing anything not a problem.

Is there a danger of Husaberg becoming too mainstream especially with KTM behind the wheel?
Since KTM bought Husaberg in 1995 I'd have to say that this far there has been no such problem. But you never know, one day we might all wake up and find our 'Berg being orange....

Last weekend we had the Kowen Forest arrowed trail ride for 350 riders near Canberra, a fantastic event. There was a WR450 given away and the organisation by the DSMRA http://www.dsmra.asn.au was superb. Available for test rides on a dedicated 10 km loop was the 09 FE450, some new Shercos, Gas Gases, WR450s CRFXs and KTMs. Universal feedback from those who rode the Berg was amazement at how good and easy to ride it was compared to all the others. I suspect that many sales will result. Many wished they hadn't tried it, as it will now be expensive....
