Dirt Bike Magazine still sucks

The March 2006 issue of Dirt Bike magazine just arrived today. In this issue they have a E-Start 450 Shootout. Included are:

CRF 450X
WR 450F
KTM 400EXC
KTM 450 XC
Husqvarna TE 450

Husaberg was absent as usual. It seems pretty obvious that someone at Dirt Bike has a grudge against Husaberg.

No bike was the clear winner but the KTM 400 was the surprise favorite.

We can only guess what the outcome might have been if a FE450 was present. First place no doubt.

Dirt Bike Magazine hates Husabergs plain and simple. I think that Dirt Bike Magazine is doing their readers a grave disservice by intentionally excluding Husabergs time and time again.

I bought that today as well.
I didnt notice any Husaberg advertising in the magazine....

I wonder.......

It is always possible no bike was provided. I do not know what the case is here, but it seems in the past magazines are not always provided the bikes they wish to have 8O

Consider Husqvarna, among others not submitting a bike for the recent 24 Hour Torture Test by Dirt Rider.

It has been my understanding that a bike has been offered to DB on more than one occasion.

Australasian Dirt Bike Magazine recently had a 450 cc "shootout"

Bikes tested were : TM 450Fes,450 EXC, Gas Gas 450 FSE,Husky TE450,'Berg FE450, WR450F,CRF450X,Sherco 4.5i.

The 'Berg placed 7th out of 8 bikes. The Sherco "beat" it to last place

Seems that when magazines place our steeds high in the ratings, we accept and advertise that fact.

When they finish at the bottom of the pile, we criticise and deride the magazines "findings"

Very poor that a Berg was not included in the Dirt Bike(USA) tests, but who's fault is it ?

Personally, magazine tests make me laugh. One will rate a bike high, another low. Only long term owners who take the time to set the bikes up properly and use them accordingly can give you an indication as to what they are really like.
Cheers,
AUSBERG.

husaberg fe450e was an easy choice for me and continues to win in my field tests of other bikes. That's what matters to me.

do you think it has anything to do with the dollar bill . or the old saying ' money talks ' . i dont take what any magazine says seriously . H-berg H-berg H-berg

I called Tom Webb to ask him why no husabergs in the last few years and he refrained from returning my call. I won't be reupping my subscription.

I seem to recall dirt bike did an article on an fe550e and they kicked some butt at a race with it, lights and all. They gave the bike high marks. I believe this was in the past year or so. Then again, I am gettin on in years...maybe it was dirt rider?

The Dirt bike magazines have slam KTM since 1974. When I bought my Penton/KTM 250 the magazine didn't like it, but is was the fastest hole shot machine ever. Not to mention world MX titles of 1974, 1976.

Were you maybe thinking of the Dirt Rider article several years ago where Chuck Sun rode a 650 in the Elsinore Grand Prix? If memory serves, he had worn all the knobs off the rear during the race...........
