Different kind of slipper....

I was at the track Monday and watch the last bit of R&D on a slipper clutch. This one aproached the problem from a new angle though, or at least new to me.

Instead of a mechanical slipper basket and clutch parts, it had a second master cylinder attached to the brake pedal. This activated the hydrolic clutch slave cylinder ever so slightly when your foot is on the brake, just enough to slip the clutch as you back it in. Beautifully simple, seemed to be working just like it should, and when they make it to production will be waaaay cheaper than the regular ones.

The bike I saw was a KTM, but if you think about it, our Bergs might be simpler, with all the components on the same side. I was asked for, and volenteered the use of a Berg for developement, so we may have something to show in the future.

What do you guys think? Oh, and, PATENT PENDING!!

Seems like a good idea but can't you just do that with your clutch lever or does this make it more consistant?

Just wondering.

makes sense...after my second set of wheels it will be a slipper next....
gonna be hard to keep the ol fingers off the clutch lever :?

Buy a Rekluse, then you won't have to touch the clutch lever ever again :D Well you will if you turn the clutch m/c into a back brake 8) If ind it a lot easier to back the bike in now
