ok guys, I need some of your opinions here.
Got my 08 FE550 brandnew, and from the very first start-up, the engine was burning a bit of oil.
So far no problem, as it takes some time for the liner/piston to be matching.
@ about 30 hours, it became better (no smoke when coldstarting or going downhill)
@ about 60 hours starting the cold engine was like starting a cold 2-stroke engine - lot´s of smoke 8O
@ about 80 hours my friends refused to ride behind me, because the smell of burned oil ,now almosr always smoking ->
So I decided to open up the engine to take a look inside

And here´s what I found:

Both Exhaust-Valves do have a major scratch just above the valve sealing, movement of the valves destroyed the valve-sealings -> oil entered the combustion chamber - oil & carbon deposit:

engine was never opened before, diasambling was done by a dealer (with me watching)
So here´s my question:
Does anybody have any idea for the reasons of this scratches? Except wrong assembling at the factory?

Peter
