im after a new head light something with a bit moor light production than standard.can you get a glass suround one so you can fit a better bulb? or is there some thing better out their.i dont want to spend hundreds some thing cheap that works will do.

Standard is quite decent if the reflector is new. It depends to some extent on what you compare with. Ideas would be depending on what version of stock bike you have got now. Eating carrots is good for night vision, so Iv'e heard, but I'd never eat them myself.

I have a lens and halogen globe assy off of a Husky 610 in mine and it does the job very well.
Like most things though, you get what you pay for. spend cheaply and you will get a cheap light output. If you dont want to spend much money, make sure everything is in good order with your existing hussy lighting circuit, you wont get anything better unless you are willing to spend some $

I have a cheap twin hallogen setup but to be honest it's really crap and will be going back to the standard lighting but with a blue plastic instead of yellow :)

Re: Headlight

Go to Bajadesign, they have a glass kit with a 80/80 watt Halogen light that is a direct replacement for the plastic lens that is on our bikes. Look at the part numbers listed in the Owners Doc. It lists as a KTM part but I installed it on my 2000 FE400E with no problems. I have been running the light for almost two years now and it is awesome. It puts out almost twice as much light as the factory unit and the glass lens helps dissperse the light better!

great tip don, thanks :D

wesh155, I replaced the stock 35W with a 55W and had lots more light. For about
$ 15.00 US that is a cheap fix IMO. rufones 80W would be another step up in brightness! 8)

Hi all,

Has anybody tried HID lighting puts a phenomenal amount of light for small amount of power used, 300% higher than a normal halogen, gives light just like day light.
Not for highway use but good for night competition riding.
If anybody is interested just drop me a line.

Sparks.

Hi Cypher, it does it you buy it from Trailtech, I think they are quoting silly figures like 900 quid, I've got a friend in the UK using it and I think 120 quid will cover it.
He can get about two hours out of the charge system before the battery goes flat but that's using the standard alternator without the modification, with the modified Kokusan alternator not a Trailtech one the original one can be modified and an uprated regulator rectifier it will cope with it OK.
But the question is how many people do night enduros?.

Regards

Sparks.
