Pinned throttle and burning the clutch in 4th gear with a Maxxis 120/90-19 tire. The rider behind me is staying clear!

whats wrong with a 120???

you can run a 110 if you really want the thing to corner better.

depends where you ride i spose.

Have Fun

whats wrong with a 120???
I run a 120 on the 200exc but on the 380
I run a 140 s-12 and it could still use more
traction.I know I had at least a 130 on my
FX470 and it handled it fine.I hate being
out dragged down the straights and with
those two bikes it rarely happened.

I dont know...i've always liked 110/100-18...maybe I should try a 120+...
has anyone tried the Dunlop ?952? or something like that...apparently a new tire from the D

Dunlop has so many numbers I can't remember
them all.My 739s were not bad great on hard and
in mud-ok in sand.I had a set of 756s that were
a good all round tire. But so far The Michelin S12s
have been my favorite here in Mi. (Sand and soft
soil.) The Bridgstones that came on my 02 KTM
were awfull.

Tire manufacturers have a different way of measuring the tire. Either they measure on the outside of the knob or on the inside. I had a 130/... on my 470 but this was replaced by a 110/100 and they look the same.
I now have Michelin tires that have the 130/.. size but a decal with the other size of 110/100 is put on it.

Wow!
Nice tire thread you've started Mr. 2005 FC550.

Cool website as well.

^Thank you.

The Maxxis 120/100x19 is one inch (25.4mm) larger in diameter than the 110/100x119. It therefore, raised the seat ~1/2 inch (12.5mm) higher. The 110/100x19 is good, but I was getting too much wheel spin with this power. The 120 tire has by far better traction, softer when bottoming hard, goes through deep ruts with very little swapping, and going in turns with berms is good. In the furture, I will try a 120/80x19. It has the same diameter as the 110/100X19.
