I decided to finally do the Joe usa recomendations and drill out the pilot and main air bleeds. I had a brain fart and for some stupid reason I drilled the pilot air screw out to 1.5mm.
Can I leave it or should I epoxy it and redrill?

I also noticed my main air bleed screw has a steel plug in it and has not been getting any air through it. It has been tough to drill and I will probably need to find some better bits Friday.
Why would that be plugged?
There are 3 holes at the bottom of the carb. The Pilot Air bleed at 7 oclock, The Main Air Bleed at 6 oclock and another one right next it. Where does that lead to?

I picked up a 50 slide and will install that also.
Will Joe usa jetting specs for his 501 work in my 600?

I remember reading some of those threads or maybe it was in the doc, either way it was confusing and i left it alone since i wasnt having any real problems with anything, do you have some pictures? do you remember the thread names that was discussed on? i think that was an old one :) i dont even remember why he did it but did think it was something i wanted to maybe try even without problems but dont think i could find any reports on how it turned out or how to do it for sure.

the pilot air at 1.5mm? well there are tiny grub screw type jets available to fit if you want to go that way. Mikuni do one. probably as much trouble finding a tap to thread the hole etc.

however, more air needs more fuel so I would just be READY to go up a jet size.

not sure what the extra hole does but it is not main and it is not pilot.

not sure what you mean by main air bleed has a steel plug? are you on about the fuel screw hole on the front right corner of the carb?

and do you have a CD1 jet fitted?

regards

Taffy

I attached a pic from an old thread, Thanks Azzad.

It shows the three holes in the back of the carb.
If I am not mistaken the hole with the brass jet or plug is the pilot jet air bleed, (7oclock)
The next one is the main jet air bleed (6oclock)
What is the third hole for ?(5oclock) It seems to be open so it is sucking air but do not know to what.
My Main air bleed hole is plugged. It looks lok someone put some sort of steel insert in there and I am having a hell of a time drilling it out. What would the reason be for that to be plugged?
Yes, I have a CD1 installed

After looking again this morning it is possible the hole at 5oclock doesnt lead to anything
