Hello.

After reading several postings here, Delo 400 comes up as one of the best oils for the Husaberg engine.

As Chevron is a Texaco company, i sendt them a mail and asked for the Delo 400 here in Norway. I was told that Texaco Ursa Super TD 15W40 was a similar oil for HD use.

Does anyone use that kind of oil?

Regards Paul

Re: Delo engine oil??

I think most 15w-40 are basically the same. I use Rotella 15w-40 witch for me has more to do with price since here the cost is a little bit less. Overall if both types of oils are where you live just do a comparsion and judge for yourself. That is proably the best idea.

Yes, Motorex and castrol MC oil is 3 times more expensive.

I am not conserned by the oil quality it self, but i have heard that som oils for cars have additives who makes the clutch slipp.

And when you repalce the oil after only a few hours, i think the price counts.

In Europe you will only find Delo 400 in Greece and Russia. Refined at a limited capacity Chevron refinery in Greece. I was told by the ChevronTexaco office in Sweden that starting sometime 2006, Delo-products will be marketed throughout Europe and imported from the States instead. With recent disasters at US refineries though, who knows.

can you get silkolene oil in your part of the world ? it is very good . but it is not cheap, but is cheap compared to engine wear .

OK! Have discussed with a pro rallycross racing mechanic, and i will try Shell Rotella or Texaco URSA Super 10W40 for som changes.

Have not heard about any engine brakedown due to Oil Brand.

The only thing i am afraid of is clutch slipp.

Thanks for comments.

We've been using the Statoil 20W50 oil several years with no trouble at all. No oil related engine problems.
