First of all I want to say this site is absolutly awsome. Taffy has helped me on jetting and Lineaweaver was great to work with on his X2 cam. Actually can"t wait to ride the bike this weekend, but that will be a comment for another time. What I am interested in is all the talk about Delo 400. Looked up the web site and see a multi-grade and a synthetic, which one does a guy use. Also have recently switched to Delo 400 and bought the multi-grade and noticed that the gear box doesn"t feel like the oil is cusioning or that it feels thinner has anyone else experienced this.

Personally I have never seen or felt any difference in performance between the Delo and synthetic. The Delo sure makes it easier to change your oil every to every other ride. I seem to have a hard time removing that drain plug when the oil that is in the crankcase is $10 a quart :wink:
Thanks berger. I don't think preformance is down I even think the e-button works better it just fels like there is water in the gear box and not oil. They say synthetics have better shear value and was wondering if some of the guys here are using the synthetic delo 400.

Full synthetic DELO 400 is capable of an increase in Viscosity Index without shear worries. Such an oil is geared (pun intended) toward arctic climates. Unfortuntely the overall EP package suffers.
I suggest the DELO 400 15-40 blend. (Big blue Jug)

If it is of any comfort I recently modified two Chevron Research employee motorcycles. One each 05 Harley TC Low Rider and 05 HD limited edition V-Rod. Individual value in excess of 25,000.00. Less than 500 miles on each odometer. Oil: Chevron DELO 400 15-40 .
