Im going to attempt to fit a DIY hotstart to my Dellorto.

I have some 6mm tube and a tap type thing but I was wondering how you attach the tube/pipe to the manifold?

I made a very small hole in the manifold and screwed a car brake bleed nipple in with some sealer around the threads

Thanks, Cookeye! Could you list all the parts?

I guess you turn the knob 1/4 of open the circuit and allow more air in? Do you also pull the choke?

I have fitted the DIY hot start now and it works a treat!!

I used an old dellorto float jet I had lying round for connecting the 6mm pipe to the manifold, I drilled it out for more air flow. Had to warm the pipe up to get it over one end of the float valve. I then made a small hole in the manifold and used the threded end of the float valve to screw ti in air tight.

My choice of tap is not the best so Im on the look out for something with a stiffer tap, the one I have moves with heavy vibration/bumps.

OK now what about the trick where you drill out the choke hole inside of the carburetor to turn it into a hot start?

Here is the thing: my carb seems to have this done and when I sent it to Dale, he plugged it back to dimension because he said that's exactly the trick that was applied but he said it was useless and that I needed the choke.

Now I am not criticizing his work because the Keihin jet mod and the rest of the jetting is spot on and I got many positive comments about it.

But I wonder if I should not revert to the wider choke hole, since I do not use the choke to start the bike and since the hotstart mod really helped with restarting the bike when hot.

What do you think, fellows?

Sorry but i cant list the parts as i told a friend about hot starts for motorbikes and he turned up on my doorstep a few days later with the valve and pipe came from the food industry

NO CHOKE is used just turn the knob and kick worked very well.
