Dellorto carb mod.

I have an 02 501 with the Dellorto. It has worked well for me to this point. The bike runs and starts fine. The only complaints I really have is the throttle seems to hang a little sometimes. I do not mean the throttle cable. The throttle snaps back quickly when you twist it, it just seems to stay revved a little after you release it when riding. It does not seem to always do it. I also have lots of popping on deceleration. I think this may be because of the headers where they meet the engine. I am going to try to seal this up and see if that helps.

The question I have is if anyone has had Dale do the mod or update and what differences were noticed. I know some people just ditched the Dellorto and went to the Kehein. I was just looking for any advice or experiences as to pros and cons of either solution or should I just leave it alone. I am also considering the big gun exhaust so will I need to rejet for that?

evidently, according to your previous post, you will have some downtime to work on the carb.
don't know if its had any work lately, but the needle and needlejet are always suspect in these carbs. if the needle has any wear on it, i would replace them both. slide wear could also be a factor. i wouldn't rejet for a big gun until after i installed it and did a few runs to see where i was.

Slide wear will make the throttle stick as will dust getting in the engine. Never had any trouble getting a round slide Dellorto in good shape set up correctly. They can work well.
