decomp spring; sloppy fit

i haven't been happy with the shape of the decomp spring to go with the latest decomp lobe. on one end you have a straight arm but the action is at the other.

tha manufacturer has made the spring turn back across the end of the coils. but it is infact nowhere near the shape of the 'D' section of the shaft. i've had one jump loose so i have now crimped it a little further around and it's a tighter fit now. spot on!

i had the same problem with the new one i put on the 650, ended up reusing the old one. should be some kind of a groove or hole to hold the inner part of the spring.

My 07 has a notch in the shaft that the "D" spring tail drops into. The spring matched the shaft shape OK. With the spring end sitting on the "D" section, the decomp would work. More positive when in the notch though.

same neil, alas the fit was loose enough that it managed to spin free. lesson learnt.
