Decker Cycles in Ohio has four Bergs on Ebay right now. Has anyone actually been to this dealership and looked at these bikes. They are advertised as new but being sold as used?

Brett do you have any knowledge of these bikes? Leftover supplied by BMG?

Are they a current Husaberg dealership?

Shhhhh.... it's a secret...I need a Berg for my living room :D . I know they are a KTM dealer close to what was the KTM/Husaberg warehouse. I also know they sell alot of bikes on ebay and have considered purchasing from them before. I guess they found these sitting in the back of the warehouse.

Mr. Berger:

How many Bergs does one man actually require. Let the rest of the world have one. You can't own them all

Liars, thieves, ....

I don't know the specifics of those bikes, but i can tell you about Decker.

We bought a bike from them through eBay at Christmas. the bike ad said Excellent Condition.
When I opened the crate, the bike was trash.
Bent Triple Clamps
Bent handlebars
Burned clutch, bike would not even pull my son's weight
Brakes didn't work
They kept the triangle stand.

I called him, he said 'What did you expect? It's a used bike.'

I said "you advertised 'Excellent Conditon'."

He says " Everyone has a different definition of excellent condition. Besides, your bid was too low, you didn't pay enough."

Excellent condition does not mean a busted bike that was crashed.

I still have not received the title.

Those bergs were in KTM's warehouse. BMG didn't want them.

KTM has bikes that were sold, the original owners blew the engine or had other major problems. KTM gives them a new bike and then refurbishes the old bike. The dealers are supposed to tell the customer the history, not advertise them as new.

If you read the listing, Todd contradicts himself by saying new, then used, plus no warranty, even from Decker that they run. AS IS = not running

Don't trust Todd Decker. If it is cheap enough for a parts bike, take your chances if you don't mind giving money to a known liar, thief, crook; whatever term you prefer fits Todd Decker.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

I posted my experience with Decker Cycles on TT.

I read this others guy's reply, "Decker Cycle advertised a bike on eBay. The Ad said no apparent damage. The guy receives the bike and it has a gaping hole in the crankcase!"

Obviously, Todd Decker will say anything to sell a broken bike.

Pass the word.

What is the deal with this guy? Bikes advertised with 0 miles
however the pictures tell a different story. Unless all the visible components have been replaced with used and the engine has never
ran , he is blatantly guilty of false advertising.
This does not sound like a positive contribution to Husaberg
North America or to BMG and all the hard work they are doing to
promote the brand. Even less to building a trustworthy dealer net-
work. Someone with proper authority should try to get a handle
on this guy before potential buyers lose faith and figure this is the
best they can expect from Berg.

If you have any suggestion of what you think we should say to him, please let me know. He's not a Husaberg dealer, and from the sound of it, his business dealings are rather sketchy.

Thanks and best regards,

Brett Saunders

Brett:

I don't think that anything can be said to this dealer that would make a difference. The new Husabergs are so good that if/when he approaches you to become an authorized dealer you will know what to do. You and BMG have done a bang up job thus far and as long as you remain on the right track (which I am sure you will) the future will surely be bright.

P.S. thank you for the mug I received at Moab :D

Has anyone who bought a misrepresented bike of any make
from Decker Cycles contacted Ohio states better bussiness bureau?

I hate to burst your bubble but the BBB is nothing more than a facade for a bad joke. They are not a "Bureau" of the U.S. government. They are a private enterprise. They have absolutely no authority to do anything except to try and take money from companies so that they can waive the BBB sign which seems to comfort some patrons.

In my opinion the best thing to do is to just vote with your dollars.

Mr. Husabutt ,

My bubble hasn't been burst , nor do I have a false sense of security
from an organization designed to protect me from my own poor judge-
ment. However the BBB in our community of New England has a very strong presence and therefore keeps bussiness owners on their toes,
my-self included even though I am not affiliated with the BBB in any way.
It is sad to hear that only 3,000 Mi. away and the" Better Business
Bureau" seems to be thought of negatively enough to upset you.
For the record aside from this site and its members , most people who
look at Husaberg as a posible next bike do so because of e-Bay and the
related pricing structure of the bikes. This is where truthfulness in advertising become a real issuue. The potential first time buyer already has questions about quality and reliability directly linked to the low price
in comparison to other brands. I guess all doubt will be removed when
the misrepresented product arrives via the shipping co. , as well as any
doubt the purchaser's friends, colegues, fellow club members etc... may have had.
God bless America ! "the mother of free enterprise" BUYER BEWARE

This of course is only my opinion of the BBB and others will surely disagree yourself included:

The BBB is akin to an extortionist or mafioso. For a fee ($500 or so) they offer protection. Pay the protection money and receive preferential treatment in the case of a dispute. They will then assist you in resolving a dispute and help keep your record clean. Don't pay them and receive a black mark should a complaint be filed. Sounds vaguely similar to the protection racket. Pay up or risk the consequences.

Guess we are thinking alike , Mafia is the exact word I stoped short
of using. Also , I wanted to say that I have never benefited nor been
held accountable, by any BBB type organizations. Just trying to offer
possible measures of action for any one who feels they were cheated,
in what should have been an honest transaction.

Kind Regards

Decker Cycle in Ohio

I have a Husaberg Dealership here in Ohio I will check on the bikes to see were the came from I will ask my friend Frank Gallo to take a look. I'll get back to you.

Decker Cycles supply line..

I spoke to this shop via phone today prior to seeing this post. We talked at length re: the 2001 Husaberg FE501 on Ebay. He did state that they were liquidating leftovers (99 models never even gassed up), reposessions, etc... from when KTM bought out Husaberg??? Or something to that effect.

Apparently these bikes have been sitting in Ohio for years.

Anyhoo, the auction I've seen the vehicle was clearly advertised as used and nothing implied. 9 pictures and a phone number were enough to satisfy me into a low bid.

Still, I asked to see the particular bikes (via fax) title/mso and he stated it was currently unavailable. He did promise that it would be included with the sale, but that the lady who handles them was out until Friday.

SO far so good. If I win the auction, I'll report back! :D

Several guys at KtmTalk have been waiting years for their titles. I still haven't seen mine yet, but it's only been 3 months.

Unless you go in person, you probably won't get your title or MSO

i won a new 2000 fc 501 for$ 2100 sott at decker cycle was great to deal with hope to buy one more!

Sounds like Decker Cycles could use a visit from my cousin Vinnie, :D :D just so happens he works for the BBB........nsman

If you check his current auctions, he has 2 people driving the auction prices up on 5 bikes. These same 2 people bid on his previous bike auctions and drove the price up..never winning.

While he may have an overall excellent rating of about 98% it is not from his bike auctions, it is mainly from "trinkets"..tee shirts, goggles etc..also, it seems MANY of the buyers have gone months & even YEARS w/o getting the proper documentation they need or parts promised to them to fix their bikes of "EXCELLENT" condition..keep this in mind before you bid..
