David Knight he can ride :)

BMW took a gamble, busines wise, hiring two of the worlds top enduro riders. As their talent and motivation are never in question, when results are below expectations, does the bike take the responsibility?
The season is still very young but it looks like it wont be easy for the BMW team.

From the looks of the results, both Knight and Juha had a rough outing. Plus, they had similar results both days. Not a very impressive debut at all, and you would have to think both of those guys would be top three finishers on a better bike.

You cannot forget Marco Tarkkalla. He's been a number 2 guy for too long, very strong rider, and often left in the shadow of DK. If I recall Saturday's results, he was one positon behind DK, and if we were to look at times between the 3 of them, I'd bet they are seconds apart.

But to your point, they did invest large, but it shows their commetment and I'll bet that by mid season they'll have their setups improved. GUys like that REALLY don't like be 2nd.

BMW and crew is certainly goign to add some drama to the scene

Hi Fry,
Dont forget that BM did not just hire Knight and Juha, they also hired Corser and the spanish bull for WSB.
That a lot on their plate. If the WEC team does not show early results and/or they cease to make development progress they have somewhere else to spend their effort.Politics and pressure may hurt the team.
Having said that I expect the BMW team to be more competitve quickly and yes it will add drama and attention to WEC..
As Coffin would say.. "giddyup" :D

Rumour has it 2010 may be the last year for the G450X as we know it.

8O 8O

so much for a future home for Juha, DK, and MT. But where do you find this info   ?

BMW NA has just about given up on the bike at the retail level. They have sold less than 30 in the US so far this year. Sales of MY10s will determine if the bike survives.

Wow, only 30 G450's...no wonder BMW is marketing Husky as well as they are, BMW's off road future lies with RED/WHITE bikes.

David had 2 DNF's before the season even start. 1st one on the GB "the tough one" which he won 5 times on KTM and the second on the Spanish national round, one week before the WEC opening.

No good for the Bambi.
