Gday All, I've been considering the Ohlins 2.0, but I have also been looking the features of the equivalent in the Scotts.

With the Scott, In addition to the Damping Level Adjuster Dial, and Return to Center Adjuster Dial, it has a screw that adjusts the angle the damping effect stops on the way out. Is it worth considering the Scotts for this feature, or should I stick with the Ohlins 2.0, as I like the way it mounts nice and low.

Which one works best ?

Any feedback would be welcome, particularly any first hand experience with either Damper

Cheers Sav

The Scotts works great. Its also the Ohlins 1. No experience of the Ohlins 2 yet, but my mate Fank Pons at Biketek who is the Ohlins agent for NSW is concerned that the recommended service interval for the Ohlins 2 is 20 hrs. Call him to confirm if you like 02 4620 9020 bh

i read somewhere someone didn't like the 2.0 because it had "stiction" i think its just more immediataley effective than teh scotts becasue the oil flow is metered in one direction only whereas the scotts/ohlins/unic is an unpressurised one that does have a bit of an initial delay before it works or on change of direction. ohlins 2.0 uses TTX technology so the delay is minimal.

i have a scotts. typical of ohlins stuff it can be made very very effective, I'm having trouble getting used to it, lots to learn.

I think that sometimes it would be beneficial to have a delay and sometimes not. I don't know enough about steering dampers to have an opinion on that yet.

the sweep control is nice but ive had a few falls from a too stiff HS clicker setting and the narrow sweep. the 2.0 may be easier to dial in because it has less adjustments.

if i had the money id go the 2.0.

steve what are ohlins suggesting needs doing a 20 hrs? is it just changing the oil or do they change seals too ?

if its just the oil i think 20 hrs is exactly how long ohlins fork and shock oil lasts before it degrades, doesn't mean it has to be changed at 20hrs, its just better for performance if we do.

I have been verry impressed with my Scotts and top mount, it has saved my arse a few times now. last trailride i was getting s#!tty with myself because I was starting to get tired and ofcourse strating to deflect pretty badly off rocks and get crossed up in some deep sand, anyway I wound on the LS adjuster about 5 clicks and it felt awesome, just so much easier to roll on and off the power snaking through the sandy track.

I picked mine up from BRP in the USA at an extremely good price, I dont want to take anything away from the local agents, but BRP (Jim Rios) was excellent.

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know how the factory damper compares in price and performance??

Steve, you should be able to pick up the Berg Damper for $830 AUST, dont know about performance.

Thanks for the replies, anyone else got any feedback on Ohlins 2.0 V Scotts ?
