Dale 'E' O Engineering DOES suspension!

My turn to hop on the bandwagon! I'm 6' and come in at, a modest, 225 lbs. Intermediate rider, mostly desert, and an occasional trip up to Kennedy Meadows, or Frazier Park. I ride a '10 570Fe, that I love, but just wasn't getting the response from the suspension that I wanted. I had replaced fork and shock springs, according to my weight, and had made several adjustments to forks and shock, but never getting it close to being where I wanted it. My previous suspension work had been done at ACME suspension, unfortunately Daryll passed away and is no longer an option.
After being on this site for a while and reading all the great reviews I figured I'd contact Dale and pray that he could help me out? HE ABSOLUTELY DID!!! My bike tracks perfectly through the whoops, which previously would buck me all over the place, and the front end is solid, which always felt like it wanted to wash out on me. I honestly couldn't be happier!

THANKS DALE!!!

Hi All,

Testing is complete for the new model year and I am ready to go with some really great updates to the stock suspension!

Just a reminder that if you have more than 40 hours on your suspension oil its time to send it in for an oil change!

Any updates to the internal components/valving that I have made since I originally did your suspension are free of charge when you send them in for a service.

So send your suspension in now to have it working its best for the fast approaching riding season!

Dale

Are you referring to the 4CS forks Dale? thoughts on them as apposed to CC or OC's?

Real Berg

Hi Dale,
I noticed all the posts relate to 09 > Bergs, well I have a real Berg 02 FX550e ( Lineweaver top & bottom end blueprint rebuild ). ha ha, anyway I had already sent you info from your web form, but in case there are other early Berg owners out there maybe you could answer my request here as well ?

150 lb rider fast intermediate , open to woods, mainly fast trail riding
04 KTM SX250 WP forks
Stock rear shock, can't remember what spring it has ( away working so unable to check )

What would you recommend, set up sag, fork preload , position rear spring etc

Hi Sean,

Yes most of the posts refer to work done on the 09 bikes forward, but, I have done a fair amount of work on the last generation bikes as well.

I just sent you an order form for you to fill out and return to me via the supplied email address from my website.

How did you end up with forks off of an 04 SX 250?

WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!!!!

Dale did my FE390 for me and its the most AMAZING ride I've EVER had!!

EVERY bike I ever had I would zig zag through rock gardens to avoid any rocks bigger than a golf ball.

Now.......I can hit small pumpkin size rocks and it does not deflect, does not upset the bike, does not do anything funny!

How can this be?!?!?!?!

I have no idea Lol!!

It does not swap in whoops now. The front end is on rails like he put Elmer's glue on my tires Lol!

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Dale E O for your Husaberg boinger needs!

This dude knows his stuff with these bikes!

Thanks again Dale!!

I'm glad that you're super happy with your set up!

Let me know if you need any help feathering it in further to get the most out of your set up!

Thanks for the great prop!

Dale

Well, I need new springs at a minimum. I see you recommend an oil change too, but that probably isn't going to happen anytime soon, I just don't have the time to shut the bike down and send the suspension off for either that or for revalving. So here's the question. I'm 240 lbs, I ride extrememly aggressively, I run off road desert rides, trail rides, fire roads, and sometimes where there are no roads. I often pack another 40+ lbs of water, tents, sleeping bag, clothes and food and ride for three or four days at a time with the extra weight on the bike plust I have the 70 degree fuel tank and I'm planning to install the front Safari tank as soo as I can afford the price. Even with the gear on the bike, I'm riding as rough of backcountry as I can find into remote locations.

Well, I'm still running the stock springs. I need new springs for my weight and riding style. The bike is a 2011 FE570S.

Dale, do you have a set of springs for me to buy? If so, how much am I going to be spending?

Brian

My suspension should be in Dale's hands tomorrow evening. I just read through this forum again and am really looking forward to this! 2013 is going to be a great year!

I also have sent my suspension to Dale he should have it by the end of the week. Looking forward to the results after reading about so many other happy customers before me. A big thanks to Dale for his efforts on our 70* bikes suspension.

Hmm ... sounds like someone I'd like to do business with. I've still only got a DR-Z so far :) Dale, if I may, would you be able to advise on valving for the 49mm conventional-cartridge Showas on the DR-Z? For payment of course.

Hi Anthon,

Shoot me an email at [email protected] and we can get the ball rolling.

What an excellent fealing. Fantastic job by Dale on my suspension, thank you.

I finaly got to go for a ride yesterday to try out my Dale EO suspension work. All I can say is it was incredible!!!!

The front end tracked excellent absorbed the harsh stuff with ease turned where I pointed it without any hesitation. The rear end was planted firm fealing bet yet plush at the same time. The front and rear worked toegether perfectly, I honestly can say that I felt like I was riding faster then before, the suspension gave me more confidence in the bike knowing that it was tracking strait and not bucking me around like before.

I would give Dale an A+ for his suspension work. If you are in the market to have yours looked at I highly recomend DALE EO!!!!!!!!

Another ecstatic customer!! The suspension is awesome. Blasts through everything with no wander, no hunting and still a great ride. I repeatedly went through one section of the trail that had about a dozen or so whoops and they felt like nothing and the bike tracked straight. Dale said that the bike would give me a ton of confidence so be careful. That was an understatement! The bike rides enitrely like a new bike. Wow can’t wait for the upcoming Kentucky ride.
Dale glad I met you on the Colorado Force ride and glad to be another very satisfied Dale ‘E’ O customer!!
Thanks,
Tim

I finally got out and rode the bike! I had an injury in August 2012, a FINANCIAL injury, and put my nose to the grindstone for 13 months. I know, 13 months, there's no excuse for that, I'm a traitor to our sport, a slacker, a rube, I'm lower than the dirt we grind beneath our knobbies.

Now that that's done, I'll get on with talking about suspension. I'm getting to know her (2007 FE 650) again and took it easy the first time out, but things went a lot better than before. Dale doesn't just fix suspension, he also coaches. His thing is helping people get better, and I'm still at the point where little tips make a huge difference.

I didn't know you're supposed to sit way up front. Dale straightened me out on that. Back when I rode, there was a TANK, and a SEAT! You sat on the seat and rode! When you do that with these bikes, it fights you the whole way. So that made a huge difference.

Today I pushed it harder, and noticed that I don't "hit" things anymore, I ride over them! Head-size rocks and tree roots don't send me careening off my line, the wheels STAY PUT on the ground, and gee whiz, the bike is just so much more controllable that way!

So I started doing things I wouldn't have tried before, and probably shouldn't now, but all went well. I rode well. I rode for 2 hours and didn't even stop for water. Previously, I'd be exhausted and dripping wet in 15 - 30 minutes.

I only crashed once, it was a hill I knew I couldn't make it up, literally straight up at the top with 3 levels of tree roots in the last 2 - 3 feet, but I tried anyway. Once.

Come around a blind corner, and there's a big rock in my line, no problem, no panic. Just RIDE!

It was probably the most fun I've ever had riding. Instead of a constant physical battle with frequent moments of terror, it's just fun and predictable.

THANKS, DALE!!!! I now have the world-class bike I've always wanted!

Dale did a great job on my 2010 FX450 very happy. I was a little concerned shipping it to California from New York and not knowing if the terrain it was being set up for was similar to what I ride. The local trails are single track sandy and hard pack and some whopped out sections. It gives great confidence when the suspension is set up correct this thing eats up everything and tracks perfectly if you have never had your suspension tuned by a professional do it its the best money spent for performance.

Hello fellow Husaberg enthusiasts!

I've been away from the site for some time now, but the site has never been far from my thoughts.

I'm glad to see that there is a lot of activity on the site for the bikes, not surprising really since the bikes were so far ahead of their time the rest are finally just catching up! I've still been doing some sets of suspension work, and wanted to let any new comers, or old timers that I'm still doing suspension and would look forward to helping any members get their bikes set up, and help them get the best out of their bikes!

Hope you all had a great Holiday season!

Dale
