I was looking around the forum and saw some mentions about crankshaft balancer and rocker arm problems. Is this something I should be worried about? The bike runs great and has been well maintained. I am just wondering if there was a problem would it be obvious or just break and screw up the whole motor. I would rather spend a little money now than a lot of money later. I was also wanting advice on any other potential problems or even suggested upgrades. I have thought about the jet kit for the carb. As I said before it runs great now so I don't know if I should do this or not, of course I have no frame of reference because I have never ridden another Berg. I really appreciate all the info I have gotten so far.

I ordered a new spring from mx-tech and will install this weekend and then take the bike for my first serious ride to see what it can really do. The spring only comes in orange. If I wanted to paint it would I have to get it powdercoated or could I just put several layers of spray paint? Is there any special paint that will work?

you definately need to powder coat that spring! they take a hellkuva lot of abuse so it's actually a no-brainer that one.

counter-balancer bearings are good normally but i can't see what you ride as it's not in your signature!!!!!

i would do it when rebuild time comes - it can wait. when you do the rebuild there are many upgrades you should conssider and they're all in the doc mate.
