Hi guys i have removed the counter balancer bearings (they are both the same) however i can find no numbers on them so that i can replace them from the bearing specialist. I can now only buy the 07 as a complete unit (Counter Balancer) priced at $500 AU and really would like to just replace the bearings in my 05 counter balancer as it will be much more cost effective. Can anyone help?

Have you priced the genuine Husaberg ones for the 05 balancer yet ??

You can no longer get them they make you buy the complete 07 counter balancer :(

Thats bad news.

Post up the ID,OD and width and I'll do a search on all the bearing sites I useif you want- but I believe you will find they are Husaberg modified or ordered specials, as I went through this a while ago had no luck.
I believe they are a narrow series narrowed even further by machining on a surface grinder.

There are no numbers at all on the bearings that i took out.

spec them out for us, ID,OD, AND HEIGHT. I also have a bearing guy I use at work and if its out there, he can find it.. Mcguire bearing or Applied Ind tech.

Fellas, going cheaper may get you what you paid for!!!!

I don't believe it was a vender issue that caused a change in parts build up like that. While the 05 brg setup was reliable, the new system is much better yet.

My opinion:
Have your crankshaft properly balanced and throw the balancer in the trash.

Dale

PS
The factory "race" engines are less balancer.

Hi Dale,
Where would I get the values to balance the 05 crank minus the counterbalancer.
The Mechanic/Engineer doing my engine said he could do it but it would be easier knowing the values for it, or it will take a long time to do it.
How much more vibration would this cause in the engine running etc?
Would i have things vibrate off of the frame of bike, etc etc would it make the bike alot different to what it is with the balancer?
Thanks
Dale

Fry Guy what exactly are you saying? You think i should buy the 07 (it costs me the same as the conrod kit)

Is that all the information I would have to give the Engineer so that he could Balance the Crank.

How much more vibration would this cause in the engine running etc?

Several active members of UHE have balancer-less engines. Some by me, some by others.

As for my personal work:
I believe the end user would provide a better answer as opposed to me tooting my own horn.

keep in mind the average automotive balance facility may prove of little help as the Husaberg crankshaft is quite hard @ 60+ Rockwell C. Automotive crankshafts are in the 40 range.

Cheers,
Dale

Hi Factor,

If you read the link Joe states the "buzzing" subsides while under load. I can say my experience is the same. My balancer was also removed by Lineaweaver and the difference you will notice is a slight buzz while it is warming up, and a better sound as the "whirring" is gone. My take is that your biggest gain will be in the fact your engine is now more sound with less bearings to burn up :)

true , when i bought the parts for my rebuild 10 months ago, the dealer told me this is the last of the counter balancer bearings , now you have to buy the complete unit .

take the advice and get rid of the c/balancer .

My FS650 '04 is almost ready to race in competition Supermoto.
The bike gets a complete overhaul
What do i have to do to get rid of the balancer? and save 286euro
What is the difference between a stock crank '05 and a balanced one? Values?
How do i get balanced properly? Dynamic or static

also
Slipperclutch yes or no? Husaberg? STM or what?
Any suggestions?
