O.K. this is what I need help with. I have a 2002 470 that blew up a counter balancer bearing and I dont know exactly what was in there. Is this bearing suposed to have a circlip holding it in? Also the manual states that it should have a double bearing balancer, and it does not. Is this a 2001 engine? Can these engines be run without the balancer in them? HELP ME PLEASE!

The double row balancer bearing was an update in 01 and some 02 engines that had the single row ball bearing balancer.I believe these bearings and/or balancer are no longer available and we must use the new balancer c/w with bearings as used in the 06 and newer engines.
You can run your engine without the balancer and there are supporters for and against this modifacation. It is advisable to have the crank rebalanced if running without.

If you need the dimensions for the double bearings they are in my gallery.

Dont be suprised if Husaberg or bearing shops cant supply.

But a thinking soul with access to a surface grinder in a machine shop may find a way around this problem.......

I have a new double bearing counter balancer that I will not be using.I t was for a 01 fc550. My fc550 had the old style counter balancer and counter balancer shaft.
