Can I use a red coolant for modern aluminum engines even if the engine has a steel cylinder liner?

Does it not say in your manual what type glycol based coolant? Its important for the seals since they are the ones that errode and loose their abilities prematurely if wrong chemical is used. Most of the time its NBR (nitrile rubber) reals.

So the different metal for liner and for cases is not a problem regarding cooling liquid?

Well it shouldn't be a problem. I never really look at the color but rather what the mix is based on and what's in it since it depends on manufacturers. I'd say go! What does the bottle say?

TOTAL GLACELF T is a permanent anti-freeze based on monoethylene glycol and is distinguished by the absence, in its inhibitor package, of amines, nitrites and phosphates.
