Cooling Fan

As the weather heats up the trails I ride get smaller and smaller (because of snow melt in the hills) and that means that I ride slower and slower. Last year I would boil over when I stopped. Not all the time but enough. Is there a fan that will work with my 03 501? I know I'm lazy I could do some digging, but I'd rather be spoon feed. Thanks, Chad

What Berger did is install the Boss rad guard, which offers more space to install a fan. He then got the 51mm computer fans with the most CFM and installed them.

Check this DIY link from TT to see what parts you can also use.

I know someone on KTMTalk.com did a similar kit.

Bubba,

There is a fan option in the force catalog under accessories at:

Husaberg

Check it out, ask your dealer. I know there is enough electrical power, but you might need to fuss with some connections. Maybe someone else knows. I recall on my '03 there were many extra connections on the harness'.

RE: Re: Cooling Fan

I bought the thermo fan from the force catalog for my Fe550e 05. The fan does not fit as per instructions. My radiator is getting modified at the moment for the temperature sender to fit (the threaded hole did not exist in it.) Also they show pictures of it mounted to the lower right hand side of the radiator. No room on my bike, the tank is in the way. The only place I will be able to mount it, will be right in the centre of the radiator pushed hard up against the breather hose. This also means that the frame will be infront of the fan. I hope it works well though after all this expense. The shop I talked to fitted one to a Fe 450e 04. It fitted right where the instructions said, with the temp sender hole and even the holes in the fins to mount the fan! Go figure!

The fan is actually for 06 models and newer. To install it without mods you would need an 06 radiator, fuel tank and shrouds. It's about a 15 minute install on an 06.
