any tips on draining the coolant on my 2000 fe501e . long fathers day ride ended with allot of racket from the top end .. doing a treardown to see whats going on , last time i did it i had coolant all over the garage ..

Bike on a stand so its level or leaning a little to the right.

Remove the radiator cap.

Put a plastic dish pan on the floor under the radiator outlet.

Loosen the hose clamp on the bottom of the radiator.

Twist and pull the hose loose from the lower radiator pipe, direct the hose into the dish pan.

When it stops draining, tip the bike so the rest runs out of the radiator and engine.

Regards,

Joe
