Question on the endurocross:

Are they NOT allowed to leave the ground? I aimagine the idea is that each rider must traverse each obstacle rather than simply clearing them?

Thanks

Ryan Hughes was the only ridier I know of who was able to clear several of the utility poles by jumping them. Otherwise, I suspect that most of the obstacles are just too difficult and or to treacherous to try and clear. It all looks pretty sedate, but, remember, these guys are local and not so local pro's who are riding this track, so it's probably a heck of a lot harder than it seems.

Thanks,

I didn't mean to come accross as mocking, I was just curious. Looks like it could be fun. And as a guy that use to race MX (and has seen himself on tape) I realize it always looks a lot easier than it is :D

I was in Las Vegas to watch the race, and my impression was that they can do whatever they want as long as they stay within the boundaries of the track. But remember, it is a very tight course, and on some of the obstacles it might make sense to try to clear them, while on others, like the huge tree, it did not seem to: some tried, but they got up in the air pretty high and had to land in the flat, like jumping off a roof.

If you have a chance, go there and watch the race. It is somewhat like Last Man Standing or Erzberg (www.erzberg.at , site in german), but indoors ...

I raced there two or three times, but failed to finish

I just watched it again. I can see how they designed it to "control" the risktaking now. At first you think "hey, just leap that", but then you notice that you would land in jagged rocks or something. I bet it would be a riot.

No worries Len, you didn't come across mocking at all. :D :D
