???
Hi,

Would anyone know the length between centres and width of the big end itself ( not the rollers )
For 05 onwards 650s?

Also can the crank pin 35mm be brought separately, part# ?

Cheers spanner

center to center 135mm, the big end diameter is 42mm and you can buy the big end pin with the roller separately

Thanks for the reply's guys. I still need to know the width (around 20mm at a guess) of big end not dia?
Taffy is that a genuine pin?
The bike is still running 150 hrs so thought I would start looking at getting all the
parts together before I need them.
I am not sure but it sounds to me like the balancer is noisy on deceleration
from higher RPM at least that is what I imagine it is?

Cheers spanner

I think 19.8mm, but ill check later

I got some steel caged bearings from MAX nightingale at ALPHA bearings in the UK. they look a lot better than oem but i have only 12 hrs on one in the 700.

I at "looking" at using one of those mx composite rods with no bearing.
Half the weight.

pretty sure they (mx composites) do the 32mm but maybe not the 35

the other big end roller I want to get hold of is the JAWA one.

yes bushie they do a 32mm one but the guy I emailed wanted the sizes of the 35mm one so
he could check.
I am thinking if it is the same width?
might be able to bore the 32 mm to suite.

from my notes

the OEM 35mm crankpin measured 1.3776" and is approx 3thou interference fit in the crank, you could go to at least 5 thou I reckon.

the 35mm BE rod out of my 08 measured 19.89mm wide and is 7.1mm thick at the BE

old 550 35mm BE rod width measured 19.90

my oil pressure is 20-35psi with the blowoff valve spring loaded a bit.

If you need more oil flow than is possible through the little gallery in the pin you could run with no CB and run a steel tube from the CB oil jet to the bore in the crankpin.

1/2 the weight would be nice for sure

Thanks bushie, do you happen to know if the 32mm BE rod is the same width ie 19.90.
I see JBS also has a larger oil pump rotor available.
The oil pressure on a car is usually 40lbs to 60lbs if i remember correctly.
I would rebalance the crank, how does the counterbalance come into the equation?
It would have to be lighter to? I read Enginehardware keeps the CB to help with the
handling of the bike ie less gyroscopic forces,

I try not to do business openly on the site. this isn't my workshop - it's a forum for owners.

so write to me. I have been sourcing my pins and bearings separately.

regards

Taffy

CB ? it comes into my equation like this:

I have 2 on the shelf, one on the left and one on the right, multply both sides by 1/CB and its gone.

makes things easier, I don't buy into the gyroscoptions bolliks and im a fussy beggar when it comes to handling.

I think it made some difference on long sweeping corners where the revs slowly increase now the bike tries to stand up a little more but it is very slight. there is no difference in the air which is where you would think to notice it the most.

most cars / passenger diesels are around 45 psi I ran one at 90 for a while, didn't seem to make much difference, frend of mine did the same and blew up his oil filter :D

I don't know the width of a 644 BE but i reckon its the same as the 550.
