I presume when you say coil you mean the HT coil, there is only one resistance reading you can take from this and that is from the coil, HT lead to the Black lead with the female spade, resistance should be around 3K Ohms.
When you say new stator do you mean OEM or patern replacement?, haveyou done the spark performance test to see how far the spark will jump in free space?.
Remove the plug and plug cap place lead 10mm from the head away from theplug hole and on a normal kick it should jump this gap, if it is then it is safe to say that the spark isn't been snuffed out under compression.
Can you take resistance readings from the ignition side of the stator?, should be
Black to Red 3000 Ohms
Black to Green 165 Ohms all + - 10%.
