Hello all! I'm new to this forum. I was givin two husaberg fe 501 ones a 2002 and I think the other is a 2000. I have a question about the 2002 it's in need of a clutch. I was givin a parts bin but the only clutch in the bin is a rev- loc does this fit the 2000 or the 2002? The 02 has a clutch assist on the clutch lever. Also I need a part # for the original thanks for your help! Looking forward to getting this monster bike running!

the 2000 will have the waterpump on the head.

the 2002 will have the w/p on the left cover?

the 2000 clutch had been used from the beginning in 1989. it runs on a bush.
they carried this on in 2001.
in 2002, they started the year with a bush then half way through they let it run on two needle bearings and the clutch basket got a different part number as the ID of the hole is marginally different.

Eric will supply you with a link to a parts book or you can email me and I'll send it back as an attachment.

pissing about with aftermarket clutches is NOT where I'd start. I'd want the OEM stuff on this occasion and get it running right.

one other thing. the double needle bearing you'll see in the parts diagram...

well, the washer that sits on it has a lip on the flat face but around the inner hole. this must sit on the two needle bearings. whereas for the bush (so like your 2000 then), the washer that covered this was just dead flat.

the reason is that the earlier bush was wider than the clutch basket so a flat washer would suffice. but the two needle bearings were lower than the basket so the 'rim' around the washer kept the basket and the drum away from each other.

I have most items in stock.

Hey thanks for the information Taffy. I'm not trying to buy a rev-loc clutch it's what came in a parts bin I'm just wondering if that works and does it use the same components as the stock clutch. I.e clutch plates. I dont know how to attach a picture I'd like to show you. I'm a decent mechanic but bikes are new to me.

i know your not trying to buy one.

but you are going to fit one.

and I did say i wouldn't want to have to do that. by that I'm insinuating that it'll be a *****!

I also explained that you have the same items in the 2000 clutch except for what may be different - or not. the pressure plate, the steels and frictions, the pushrod; all will be the same.

IMHO, I would get the 2002 running with the clutch PP from the 2000, ride it test it, make sure it's OK, I'd then give it back to the 2000 and then turn my hand to the Revloc knowing that you had had a good clutch the previous day.

I really, really hope I'm clear.
