beginning of ride my clutch went (limp) lever lost it's firm feel, and woudn't disengage So I figured that somewhere a leak ocurred.
After a couple of minutes and a few times pumping the lever it came back.
Checked the reservoir level and it was full/fine.
Continued with ride and within 1/2 hour again and again came back.
was able to complete three hour trail ride, without happening again.
Checked level again and still full, clutch system never been damage or repaired, I don't race the bike just trail ride it and got it new in 03.
Anybody with same experience, please let me know if it doesn't have a leak where do I start.....Thanks

These systems are new to me but the first thing I would check is the pads to see if they are really worn.

I would perform as much of the work covered on page 51 of the 04 Owners Manual as required to correct the problem.

Normal engine vibration will often cause the clutch assembly piston to retract forcing one to pump the lever several times to engage.

Later year hydraulic units have a small pre-load spring just behind the actuating piston.
