Clutch slave leak?

I noticed some fluid leaking from the slave gasket yesterday. When I removed the slave from the engine case I found engine oil was slowly leaking from the inner/case seal. Is this normal? When I remounted the slave and tightened up the three bolts there is no more leak to the outside. Is the cavity behind the slave is supposed to be full of oil or not?

There is oil there from the engine. It won't be full of oil but it will have engine oil in there. When I have to work on a slave a lean the bike the other way to keep any oil in there from leaking out.
 
Thanks Ted. I wasn't sure what was supposed to be back there, engine oil, clutch fluid or nothing.
