Clutch pushrod adjustment washer

Hi,

I recently bought a '99 600FE. I had a problem with the clutch as it wouldn't disengage. After inspection I found there was no adjustment washer fitted.
Probably the previous owner forgot to fit one or lost it or something.

Can anyone tell me what material the washer is made of. The local dealer is closed for the moment so i can't get an original. I have some washers that I could use, but I'm not sure if it can be metal or that I should use something else. Don't want it to wear out the pushrod. :)

Thanks

My guess is that they are steel. The parts book lists 3 thicknesses, 1.5mm 2.0mm and 2.5mm.

You need to select one that allows the clutch lever to engage at 90 degrees.

You need to torque the pressure plate screws to 10Nm.

I would wait for the dealer to open if it were me.

If you have access to a machine shop, you may be able to turn up some O-1, oil hardeninig drill rod. Make sure you drill a lube hole (approx. .0625" dia.). Flame harden and oil quench the part and then surface grind it to size.
