I ride about once a week, whenever i take the bike out for a ride, the clutch doesn't appears to not be working 100%, i kick start the beast and then the second i slip her into gear she dies, i try to push the bike while in gear with the clutch engaged but it reacts as though there is no clutch, locked wheel!!!!!

after pumping it, i can actually engage second gear and pull away, and after n bit of riding it's fine?????

What the hell?

Ask Stoveguy about this. He does not even use his clutch (he just can't figure out how to use it anyway). 2 days in Moab without one, just make sure you get your bike rolling before you clank it into gear. HA HA I think that was his method. Didn't seem to hinder him too much..

agree with bob. you need to bleed your clutch line.

if you want a good neutral then look at buying a new clutch drum (centre).

What year is your bike??

I had a 2001 fe501 and the clutch rod that was actuated by the clutch cylinder was about 1/4 too short and would not release the clutch all the way. I dropped a small ball bearing in and that was just enough of a shim to make the clutch stop dragging.
I only got to that point after carful bleeding and then a ton of measuring. You probably only need to bleed since it somes back after a bit of use.

Bleed it from the botttom up using a syringe and a piece of hose that fits the bleeder. Open the resovior and you will make a bit of a mess but it seems to work better from the bottomn up than top down.
