Clutch not engaging

I searched around and didn't find an answer to my issue. I'm hoping I didn't screw things up.

I just installed the enduro engineering slave/case saver last night on my 2011 390 and when I removed the screws from the slave it popped off. So I installed the EE saver and seated the slave back into its place and when I started the bike up the rode it the clutch would not fully engage with the clutch lever pulled in. The bike would just keep moving forward slowly. It's fine in neutral, which makes sense. I'm going to try and fix it tonight but figured I'd gain some knowledge first. What did I screw up?

Did you happen to pull the clutch lever while the slave was dismounted from the bike?

I did not. I was sufficiently warned in the owner's manual and EE instillation directions not to do that.

Thanks for your reply though.

When you had the slave cylinder off, you probably noted the o-ring that seals the slave against the engine. If that o-ring was not properly seated when you reinstalled the slave, the result would be that the slave is kept from fully disengaging the clutch because the slave is not fully seated against the engine. These hydraulic clutch systems move only a small fraction of an inch.

That must be it. I'm going to remove it when I get home and make sure I seat it properly when reinstalling it.

Thanks for your input. I hope it's as easy as just reseating it. And I hope I didn't ruin the o-ring.

Thanks again
Chris

The O-ring part number is in the engine parts manual. I'll look it up for you if you don't have a manual. It's a cheap part if you boogered it up. Might want to buy two while you're at it. I did.
