Clutch Issues

I've noticed a bit more whining noise from my clutch lately, particularly when deccelerating in a lower gear. Decided to pull off the side cover and have a look. What I found perplexes me a bit. The oil is nice and clean with no sign of catastrophic failure or abnormal wear. However, 3 of the 6 aluminum washer/spacers under the clutch spring retaining bolts are cracked half-way thru. All were tight so I don't believe it is due to an unusual lateral load. There are no cracks in the clutch basket that I can see, even around the threaded holes that receive the spring retaining blots. I am not particularly hard on my clutch so I am at a loss to explain these cracks. Anyone else ever experience this and/or have an explanation? I also don't know if this is the source of the whine or not.

Thanks,

i've had a broken alloy cap for months and it's been on order for that long as well. however i have no whining noise so no this isn't your source!
