Clutch cable lock nuts

I have a quick question. I went to adjust the clutch on my 98 FE400e and found that down where the cable ends at the engine case there is a spot where the threaded portion of the cable housing goes through a small hole. The cable then attaches to the clutch lever. On my bike there are two adjusting nuts both on the same side of the hole. Both are on the side towards the front wheel. Logic tells me one or both of these nuts should be to the rear of this hole. Is the arrangement I discribe correct?

hey now, lets not let logic get in the way :D they both go in the front, tightened against each other. you could put one in front and one in back, but that would make it harder to take the cable off.
