I use silicone dielectric on all of my "outdoor POWER" equipment connectors. All the deicer salt and chems they use up here gets into the connectors and turns them green or rots them apart, even when your not riding on the roads where they have treated. One of the guys I work for installs and services Fisher snowplows, and we always put dielectric in the connectors. If we don't the connectors will corrode out in less than one winter of work. I have a tube ofstuff under the "Standard" label, parts ID# SL-4, think I got it at a Steego (now CarQuest) auto store.
