Looking for new hydration pack and chest armour.

The old chest armour I have is good but getting a bit small and uncomfortable.

I'm looking for something that breathes well as its hot as hell in Brisbane (Australia) but is also comfortable and won't move around when I'm riding approx price I'd spend would be 150-300 aud

hydration pack I'm looking for something that's like a daypack with a 2-3litre bladder that don't leak!! So I can store tools gear etc in it.

From previous experience all gear feels dramatically different in the shop to when you've been riding all weekend.

So what do you guys recommend ?!

hi mate

im in perth and wear the zip up no fear armor and works great fits well

get the husaberg backpack tis awesome

Cheers ,had a look at the no fear armour looks decent for the price, which style / name did u you get is it the empire ?!

Found a decent fox enduro hydration bag for 84 on fleabay , how much was the berg hydration bag ?!

Umm not sure of the name has compression spine protection sholders chest kidney arms etc has a zip up the middle, the husaberg hydration backpack is 80 from cyclebuy.com under husaberg

Some years ago I purchased some cheap bladders and paid for it , they leaked and the bags did the same.
No good on long rides without water.

I got onto camelbaks , they were good well designed.
I use a Camelbak Mule, holds 3 litres , good small to mid sized pack for a bit of gear, I tie a light weight rain jacket on there also if needed.
I dont like to big and bulky pack on my back , so this is a good size for my needs. You can also drop another 2 litre bladder into one of the pockets also if needed. Not sure if they would hold up for long with heavy tools in them. I also use a Kelly Enduro Bag for tools , waist bag. They are leather, had one for 10 + years and has nearly out lasted me.

Body armour, I used a Dianese Pressure suit with the back protector , they seemed to be good some years ago and it has served me out and taken lots of spills. Pretty expensive though.lasted about 6-7years then the mesh started to let go in places.Still use it today.
Now, I would definately not buy such an expensive item , there appears to be a lot of cheaper brands that put out what looks to be good gear also.

Regards,

Hi, sixsixone pressure suit and camel back has done it for me for 3 years and comfortble too, back protector is heavy duty had a few spills and no broken bones can't ask for much more..............colin

I am laid here with a broken humorus my pressure suit saved my collorbone and ribs but my arm took a beating 3.5 weeks of pain today still a few more weeks to go

Geeze that must have been quite a fall, do you think better gear would have saved it ?!

Tried on a mates 661 vapor compression suit n it did seem firm breathable, comfy and well priced.

Yeah agree on the bladder had one leak all the time replacing it with a good one buts its only a 1.5L bag so it'll be a arvo ride bag.

Gonna have a look at a few local bike shops tomorrow and see what'll suit my needs as i want something that'll hold overnight gear but also compress down with straps when I only want to use the bladder to avoid that swing.

Agree with previous posts - 661 Vapour and Camelback Mule 3L is a great combo. Both very light, good fit, cool and comfy! Also hard wearing.

Well my suit arm and sholder protection is comprehensive, I landed on hard pack clay after clipping the side wall of a deep rut while cornering at speed, coz the rut was so hard and deep I couldnt get up over the side wall and just flipped over, had to get a new helmet ended up with an airoh coz they are my fav style of enduro helmet for the price. I also wear asteriks knee braces which are awesome
