yo colby, it was great to meet you, and great to work on your bike in the pouring rain, lol.

fwiw, husaberg superiority is demonstrated by a 100% medal ratio. All 3 bergs (you me, and a AA canuck guy named Nick Riewe or something like that #149) finished both days.

apparently it's hard to read because they have me listed as riding a husqvarna, but i promise i was on the mighty 550.

ALL RIGHT COLBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A BRONZE & A SILVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who don't know this was Colby's FIRST motorcycle race EVER!!!!

WOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Sneaky Canucks showing up everywhere!

Nick Riewe is a Calgary based racer that just started racing Bergs this year as a result of being exposed to our infamous "Fryguy". I raced gainst Nick as an Intermediate. All I can say is that he was in alot better physical condition than me

Shane Cuthbertson is also a top Canadian off road racer that you will see in the results with some pretty strong rides.

Good work lads!

Good job Mr. Weaver. I was wondering if I was ever going to talk to you again :D . I mean really.....Husqvarna ::roll:

Alright Cheeseberger!! I guess skiing at 11,000 ft. and South American vacations are good training EH. Awesome frist race , hope to see you in and around Durango this summer. Stoveguy has been checking out some trails now that the runoff is down.

Nice work fellas, you had some perfect conditions I understand, so good riding.

By buddy Nick was going to talk to one of you guys, he had seen your bike in pits, but time took him away and when he returned ya'll were gone.

I'm glad everything went well, except for Velo's brand accreditation...darn suzuki's.. or what ever it is that they think we are riding

Great job!

Looks like the Arizona group ride was a good training for our friend.

Woohoooo!

wish i'd known he was a friend of yours. i would have made more of an effort to pester him and introduce myself. as it was we exchanged a few hellos as he was on his way to the line when i was heading into impound, and a wave or two at a check on day 2.

one of the benefits of having an obscure bike is you have instant buddies in far-flung places. unless of course you're the only one, like i was at the nevada 200.

If I would have been paying attention, I'd have given him the heads up about you guys.

He was in Moab 8 weeks ago and had an excellent ride on your sovereign trail. Thanks again for the trail boss duties that weekend, I still get revved about it.

its been over a week and i am still reminded of the idaho city 100 by the 3 large bruises on my right side from my crash on sunday shortly after the 1st check. went down hard in a spot where i wouldn't of even thought a crash was likely. broke my visor and got fairly banged up but nothing bad. couldn't focus after that and dropped my bike 5 times in about 10 miles. was 5 minutes late at the second check. was almost ready to quit at about mile 40 but a couple mile "not so bumpy and tight" section gave me a little rest and speed, i think i may have gotten to 4th gear for a few seconds, and i got a second wind. got to rest a fair bit on sunday because it was quite easy to make the checks, aside from check 2. on sat. i was late the whole day and did not rest once except for the one gas stop i used and i didn't get off my bike, oh i guess i did stop and throw a wizz and probably got a 48.5 second rest. needless to say i was beat at the end of the day. i think next time i will even set up my tent so i dont have to climb up into the back of my truck to sleep, i could hardly walk staight after sunday let alone get into bed. i felt a little like a homeless bum cooking on my tailgate on my rusty coleman and climbing in my truck to sleep. in general people had some pretty stylin set ups, mine being equal to the ghetto, but it works and its PAID FOR. the course was pretty awesome but fairly choppy. one section on sat. was tricky and there was a bottleneck of riders. 2 90* switchbacks where you had to get off your bike, at least i didn't see anyone ride them. i slipped and dropped my bike off one. no way i was getting my bike up alone and after a dozen or so riders went by i finally pulled out my glock and demanded help, not really, but some nice guy on a honda helped me back on the trail, without his help i would still be there. i was also surprised at how much time i spent in 1st gear, glad i had my 14t in the front. overall i had a good time, though i was exhausted and sore. i think i will do the spanish peaks enduro in colorado on july 8-9. its only a 3 hour drive instead of 13.

cheeseberger

or you could drive 13 hours and ride in ely for 2 days. a handful of folks are coming out here to play in the mountains with me, including maybe even brendan, if all works out for him.

i think it's very impressive that you were able to finish that event as your FIRST RACE. my first enduro (sawmill, in norcal) i was on the verge of houring out for the whole last half of the race. i got as far as 57 minutes down, but somehow finished.
