Hi Guys,
I've checked the owners dock, my manual and can't seem to find the right details on checking the cam chain adjustment...or what teh hell to do with the adjuster itself

Can someone give me an idiotproof version of what to do..

Mucho Thanks

pull the plug and rotate the engine to tdc (either one). pull the pipe. remove the center bolt and spring from the tensioner. remove the tensioner. gently pull the plunger out and see how far to max out. anything over 80-90 % needs a new chain. to reassemble, flick camlock out of the way, shove plunger in, remount to cylinder, gently push in the plunger thru the hole til it touches the blade and put the spring and bolt back in.
putting the pipe back on and the plug in is optional.

Thanks Ned,
Appreciate your help...seems simple enough

Cheers

After removing the spring, my tensioner came out in the same setting as under use. I'd have to turn the music down to hear he clicks too. Not sure thats a good idea coz then I'd be able to here the wife and kids........ nothings simple.

Do you mean remove exhaust pipe?
yes, unless you have a trained small rodent or lizard or own stock in a company that makes universal joints for wrenches.
