Cheap Tweeks.

Hi,
can anybody tell me of anything you can do to a 04 FS650 to increase performance without spending an absolute fortune?
Also I`ve just been offered a Doma full racing system pretty cheap but the battery has to be removed? Are they all like this? Thanks for any nuggets of wisdom.

Getting the bike jetted proper is the cheapest way I can think of to get the "most"' out of your bike.

cheap tweeks?

none that i can think of just exhaust systems.

increase size of exhaust valves 2mm.
fill the inlet port and then re - port the inlets
bore the carb out to 42mm
do the airhorn mod to the carb
750 conversion

Now if you have a battery and race it, I may have an idea on how to reduce the weight of the bike.

The new Doma exhaust and proper jetting will probably net you an extra 2-5HP and a couple ft/lbs of torque. After that extra power is just a matter of extra money. How much extra money do you have to spend?

Would be nice to have you do a dyno run before and after you add the new exahust for proper tuning and comparision purposes.

money as always is an issue, i can afford a aftermarket system and jetting but is it worth spending the extra on a full system or just the end can? Any airbox mods worth considering?

well all i'll say is "go look at the power curve in simon's gallery...."

vormanuk beat me lasttime so this time was fairly sweet and yes Lplates u r right; i will be yet again developing the bike and passing on all the results.

and still no charge! isn't that good!

well my jetting was set in the winter which means that it's probably running rich with a 148MJ right now. so i'm safe to go 'throttle up' as nasa would say.
