Changing the conrod

Is changin the conrod a job a garden ched wrencher can do, or does it need to be aligned and such wich would make it a pro's job?

What about putting the cases back together, is it as simple as just bolting them back together or do they also need to be aligned in a special manner?

Hi Christof,

Pressing and truenig a crank is a bit beyond the average garden shed wrencher and
getting it wrong will cost you a lot of HP and ultimately a set of main bearings/engine teardown.

Unless you have access to all the correct equipment (press, trueing jig or lathe with live centres, dial indicators etc) you are far, far better off paying the small fee involved to get a professional crank rebuilder to do the job for you.

My advice is yourself a lot of time and stress and go the pro route.

you have no choice you must go to an engineer. full stop.

look fella, go into the doc and copy and paste the engine rebuild info ok?

do the same for tuning the engine if you like. and other things. it will all cut 'n paste.

then use it in the order it's written.

we also have workshop manuals to download here for free!
